The chickweed has a long stem with paired leaves and a small white flower on top. The leaves are oval and pointy and usually hairy. The weed can grow very tall and take up a lot of ground. The white flower on top is about 1/8” wide and has 5 pedals, but can look like 10 pedals from the way they are shaped. The chickweed like to grow in sunny lawns, but can also be found in some shade. You will see the chickweed in the early spring through late fall.
