Dandelions are one of the most common weeds worldwide. They love to harvest in sunny, open fields. Dandelions have green leaves which are 3 to 12 inches long and 1/2 to 2-1/2 inches wide. The leaves also look like Taraxacum, chicory and occasionally wild lettuce. In some cases you will see yellow flowers branched off of them. The flower grows on a stem which can reach 18 inches long. The flower consists on hundreds of tiny yellow pedals. After a few days the yellow flower overnight will turn into what seems to be a white ball of fluff. The white fluff is actually many seed heads, which blow off with wind and then land on soil to produce more dandelions. Most people try and just to snip off the leaves, but the weed will only grow longer and faster. The more you pick it the more it will grow. Dandelions have deep roots which must fully be removed in order for the weed to not grow back. The weed is not harmful to people and some people will actually pick the leaves and eat them in salads.
